Very Happy 03:17
You make me very happy. Keep doing what you do. Lately I've been laughing, and I owe it all to you. You stood me on my feet, and made me face my dreams. Before you, I was lonely, now I have everything I need. By getting to know you, a whole new way of life has opened the door to more of you, and that's what I like. I'm seeing the world through a brand new pair of eyes, and learning that life's about being alive. *** And the only way to thank you is to never leave your side, 'cause you've given me a chance, and I've become a man. You make me very happy, and you've made me who I am. But by getting to know you, a whole new way of life has opened the door to more of you, and that's what I like. It's something you don't know you wanted 'til it arrives, then suddenly living without it's not right. I like getting to show you a whole new other side that nobody opened me up to 'til you arrived. We're braving the weather together when it's cold outside. You've made it all better. I've surrendered and arrived! I like getting to know you. I just like getting to know you. I like getting to know you.

Circumstance 03:54
I was as before; safe from the world just outside my door. ‘Scared to make new friends, waves, or major plans to have more. But then you addressed my whole social-life, which you deemed a mess. Was it worth the stress? Well then, yes, I guess, ‘cause I’ve progressed. And you made it happen. Circumstance didn’t come until after we did the things we always said we would do. You help me see life through. That’s how this story goes. You came and lightened up my load. We do it all ourselves, but we’re never alone. We two are whole. You take me by the hand, and you get what no one understands. Few can empathize with a child disguised as a man, but somehow, you make that happen. You mix my hijinks up with lots of laughter. If I live forever, I could never repay just what you’ve done today. It’s called, ‘taking control’, and I was open to letting go. There was a great divide that I could never cross; not on my own. That gap is closed, and it’s you who made it happen. Circumstance didn’t come until after we did the things we always said we would do. You help me see life through. It takes a dreamer to have dreams to pursue, but you make them come true.
3.
‘Strummed my guitar on a late, summer morning when suddenly a call came through. ‘Caught me off guard, though not without warning. I was still shocked it came so soon. Don’t bring me down. Not here, not now. We’ve always tried to do good in our lives, but bad things happen to us all at some time. That’s just life. In the end, we’re fine. Dog gone, let’s drive awhile, but try to get me, get me home on time tonight. Try to get me, get me home on time. Signs were there all along, but never seen when having fun, ‘cause passing time makes youth fly by, and we all live forever when we’re young. Yet nothing lasts. All things must pass, like sunny days, quiet peace in the night, and warm embraces of people we like. Then we pray: “May it never die”. Dog gone, let’s drive awhile, but try to get me, get me home on time tonight. Try to get me, get me home on time. *** We have tried to do good in our lives, but bad things happen to us all at some time. That’s just life. In the end, we’re fine. There’s no time to cry, Dog gone, let’s drive awhile. Just try to get me, get me home on time tonight. Try to get me, get me home on time, sunshine. Try to get me, get me home on time tonight. Try to get me, get me home on time.., -to get me, get me home on time.., -to get me, get me home on time, dog gone.

To Tennessee 05:36
To Tennessee ‘Top off a tank full of diesel fuel, crank up the tunes, and off I cruise, oohoo, haulin’ twenty tons with no time to lose. A’ thousand miles to drop the load and move. Then it’s home, here I come. Every second I’m away is way to long, because everywhere I go reminds me of sweet, Tennessee with its painted scenes and its beauty queens. And everything I see reminds me that all roads will lead to the fresh fields of Tennessee. Truck-stops and gift-shops, cops and booze, cheap women too, they know my route, oohoo… To the tourists only passing through, I may seem rude, but have a job to do. So I’ll claim my piece of highway, put the big-rig in gear, and pass them smiling, because everyone I see reminds me of my family waiting patiently in Tennessee. And everyone I meet begs to hitch a ride for free and head with me to Tennessee. And it’s where I go to find my peace, to the crown jewel of the great southeast. Because everywhere I go reminds me that I long to be so loved and free in Tennessee. And everyone I know reminds me of the homey feel and the homemade meals in Tennessee. And everything I see reminds me of sweet, Tennessee with its history and its beauty queens. And everyone I meet says they’ve always dreamed of being in the painted scenes of Tennessee. So hitch a ride with me to Tennessee. © 2010 Words and Music written by Ian Patrick Gentles

GOIN' FOR A RIDE Mama, wave bye bye. I'm goin' for a long, long drive, and I won't be back tonight... "Wait!" I'm leavin' all my friends behind, and 'gonna' start a brand new life. I wanna' be real hard to find... You can say wait.., but I need you to be staying strong for us right now, as I leave this suffocating, one-horse, little town. I'm goin' for a ride... I'm goin' for a ride... I can hear that something better's calling out my name, and the ties here must be severed. I just need a change. I'm goin' for a ride... I'm goin' for a ride.., because Mama, this scene's old, and it no longer feels like home. It is time to hit the road, and I can't wait.., to be somewhere, someone, something. I don't really care, as long as it's happening, and I'm already there. I'm goin' for a ride... I'm goin' for a ride... I'm goin' for a ride. *** Life is different. How can I return to where I've been? I'm like the distant clouds for miles changing in the wind. I'm goin' for a ride... I'm goin' for a ride... I'm goin' for a ride.., goin' for a ride. WANNA' BE LOVED Bye bye, baby, bye bye. I'll maybe see you next Friday night. You can't say we don't try to see each other once in a while. It's just hard to be alone when you've made the world your home. I wanna' hold you, hug you, kiss and touch you. I wanna' squeeze you, tease you, rub and please you. Ooh, yeah! I wanna' be held. I wanna' be loved. I wanna' be loved. So bye bye, baby, bye bye. I really hate to leave you behind. If you can't change with the times, I'll just see you in another life. Though I have my complaints, I still like you this way. I wanna' hold you, hug you, kiss and touch you. I wanna' squeeze you, tease you, rub and please you. Ooh, yeah! I wanna' be held. I wanna' be loved. I wanna' be loved. *** And I've noticed that I've found that when no one is around. I wanna' hold you, hug you, kiss and touch you. I wanna' squeeze you, tease you, rub and please you. Ooh, yeah! I wanna' be held. I wanna' be loved. I wanna' be loved. I wanna' hold you, hug you, kiss and touch you. I wanna' squeeze you, tease you, rub and please you. Ooh, yeah! I wanna' be held. I wanna' be loved. I wanna' be loved. I wanna' be loved. I wanna' be loved. SPEAK TO ME, TAILLIGHT As I start to doze, in comes a voice, and I wake up instantly. C-band radios are a bunch of noise until you find the right frequency. Talk; it's a funny thing. We do more when someone's listening. Hello, hello... I'm on the C.B. radio. Oh-ho... Another load, another week over the road. We each have a name. It's a child's game, and we call it our handle. Mine is the 'Taillight'. They call me to converse and share the ride. Hello, hello... I'm on the C.B. radio. Oh-ho... Where do we go? The highway's moving way too slow, so speak to me, Taillight. What's your location? I am stuck at a red light, and I'm trying to get home. Well, keep off the turnpike, there's an open weigh-station. Once you cut loose and bob-tail, you should stick to the back roads. Oh, I could've been anything, but driving is a bit more interesting. *** It's a lifestyle choice of long trips and great, big convoys. Hello, hello.., I'm on the C.B. radio. Oh-ho... Another load, another week over the road, so speak to me, Taillight. I'm a heavy hauler that is trying to find you. Check your six, and pass it on, 'cause it 'aint easy sailing. There's a shark in the water; that's a '5-0' behind you moving quick. Update your logs. Oh, I could've been anything, but life handed me a big rig, so Speak to me, Taillight... Speak to me, Taillight... Speak to me, Taillight. COPYRIGHT 2010 WORDS AND MUSIC WRITTEN BY IAN PATRICK GENTLES

NOBODY KNOWS MY PAIN Well, there's no one around, and it needs to come out. I'm frustrated. I can't take it. When we're talking about staying calm, but I shout, I'm frustrated, and can't say it. But we both ought to know by now, I'm upset, and I'm acting out. I'll take it out on my friends by cruelly yelling at them. I'm frustrated, and can't take it! I'm frustrated. I can't take it, no. Nobody knows my pain. I'm frustrated. I can't ta-ee-ae-ee-ake it. 'Vent or I'll go insane. When the rock that you bleed upon up and leaves, it's frustrating. 'You can't blame me. But I take it too far, and it's always my fault for behaving like a baby. Well, now tell me why that should be that I get just so angry, that there's no talking sense. So I'll say it again, I'm frustrated, and can't take it! I'm frustrated. I can't take it, no! Nobody knows my pain. I'm frustrated. I can't ta-ee-ae-ee-ake it. 'Vent or I'll go insane. I'm frustrated, and can't take it, no! 'Letting out all my rage. I'm frustrated, and can't ta-ee-ae-ee-ake it. When will it go away? I'm frustrated. I can't take it. I'm frustrated. I can't take it. I'm frustrated. I can't take it, no. Nobody knows my pain. Copyright 2010 Words and Music Written by Ian Patrick Gentles

North Jersey 03:37
NORTH JERSEY North Jersey: There's no other place I'd rather not be any day. Tell me why half the human race exists in such a tiny space. Directions only get you lost. Street signs were just an after-thought. There's got to be a better way to get from point B to point A. Stuck underneath a railroad tressle. My truck was way too high. I never saw the sign. Sitting there waiting for a wrecker. Traffic's backed up for miles. We'll be here for a while. Turn around right now. A simple, little trip always takes twice as long. 'Like trying to navigate your way through a hairball. North Jersey, there's just no excuse for all the crap you put me through. 'Told me my truck is over-weight, 'kicked me right off of the parkway. I doubt there's any other state that goes so far to make you late. *** Turn around right now. From in the passing-lane, somebody flipped me off. It's only saving grace is New York's not too far. North Jersey, hey, what do you do with all the fines for revenue? Let's try and beautify the place by investing in open-space. I'll try to stay real far away from the north-eastern garden state. Turn around right now. Turn around right now. COPYRIGHT 2010 WORDS AND MUSIC WRITTEN BY IAN PATRICK GENTLES

Not My Girl 03:37
NOT MY GIRL I'm putting life on hold 'til I get it figured out, and find out what it's all about to think of ways to be with her. There's so much I've been told, like it has its ups and downs, then while it seems I'm sitting around, I let her slip through my fingers. Now ooh, how I'd like to hug her. 'Funny how I love her when she isn't my woman now. And ooh, how I'd like to squeezer her, and what I'd give to please her, but she's not my girl. I try to carry on and blatantly forget about the simple fact that I'm without the red-head of my fantasies. But 'saw her in a bar, sapphire and matching rouge, standing near her future groom. Well, that lucky, little s.o.b. 'Cause ooh, how I'd like to hold her. I wish that I had told her, and maybe she'd be my woman now. But ooh, instead I'll never say to her I will always stay with her, 'cause she's not my girl. I'm livin' on the road. Growin' old alone at home 'aint got a foot-hold on my bones. I break away from tradition. She could've changed my plans, converting me a family man like half my class of Nottingham. Days of high-school revisited. Now ooh, how I'd like to tease her about the blood between us. Scottish runs through both of our veins. So-ooh, it's quite a road to reach her, a stranger and a creature who'll never be my girl. But what I wouldn't do to her if she was my girl. Now I just wanna' moon her cause she's not my girl. No, she's not my girl. COPYRIGHT 2001 WORDS AND MUSIC BY IAN PATRICK GENTLES

Loves To Be 03:32
LOVES TO BE Somewhere in time, she'll come to realize that there's so much more to life than me. It's hard to believe, but until then we'll stay the best of friends with the benefits we both need constantly, because she loves to be my woman. She really loves to be my girl, and I swear there is nobody who loves me more in the world. I'm bounded by my heart, and held against my will, 'cause when she looks at me, I can see it's such a thrill that she loves to be my girl. Honey, I'm a man who made some other plans long before there was you and me. Honestly. Play another part. I could see it from the start where the clashing of our wants will lead. Our destiny can not be that you love to be my woman, and you love to be my girl, 'cause I swear I see it coming when I swore I never will take part in someone's dream when it is not my own. Don't take it personally, but we come from different worlds, where you love to be my girl. And she loves to be my woman. Yes, she loves to be my girl, but I fear she found the wrong one to obsess with and convert, 'cause everytime we kiss, somewhere there is a missed opportunity to ask her why she still loves to be my girl. I don't know, and never will. But when she looks at me, I can see I'm her whole world, and she loves to be my girl. Copyright 2010 Words and Music Written by Ian Patrick Gentles

Like Your Woman   I’ve got one thing on my mind, but she politely declines. Honey, please give in to what your man needs. Why am I always denied the object of my desire? Don’t you long to be with someone you can hold? This goes so wrong with everything that I was told How nobody needs you like your woman, that nobody treats you like your woman, and nobody pleases you like your woman, like your woman, like your woman. But I’m rejected every time. ‘Think what that does to my pride. I’m begging, please, give it up and let it loose, because I’m on my knees. ‘Look at what you’ve reduced me to. Nobody shames you like your woman, ‘nobody maims you like your woman, then nobody blames you like your woman, like your woman, like your woman. Well, I’m all out of fight, because I’m tired of trying and trying, my, my, my, to wine her and dine her to find it’s all a waste of time.   Yet she seems so pleased, but didn’t get that way from me. Nobody shuns you like your woman, and nobody stuns you like your woman, and nobody runs you like your woman, like your woman, like your woman. I’m done depriving myself. I’ll find it somewhere else. Well, well, well, then she’ll see how it feels when she needs a little piece of me. No one can hurt you like your woman, and no one can learn you like your woman, but no one deserves you like your woman, like your woman, like your woman… Like your woman, like your woman, like your woman… Like your woman, like your woman, like your woman, ah.   © 2010 Words and Music written by Ian Patrick Gentles
